,就是其中的一位。

日,Jack加入了德克萨斯州布利斯堡的美国陆军。他是一名通讯兵中士。开始他在德克萨斯州接受基础训练和技术学校的教育,被培训成为面包师。从烘焙学校毕业后,他转入陆军航空兵团,并在德克萨斯州的兰道夫机场服役。

月,当时担任盟军中国战区参谋长兼中缅印战区美军司令约瑟夫·史迪威将军,需要征集一批能讲会写的华裔军人,派往中国昆明进行中美双方人员的通讯和沟通工作。Jack是被选中承担这项任务的

名华裔军人派被往密西里州的克罗德 (Camp Crower)
军营进行通讯方面的培训。在接受密集训练后,他们被分配至第 3143
通讯服务公司
(signal service company),然后乘船经苏伊士运河经印度前往中国。抵达印度孟买后,他们又被送往印度加尔各答。随后,300名接受训练的通讯员前往中国执行任务。Jack与其他

人被派往印度新德里作为后备队。就在等待进一步命令的时候,二次大战宣布结束了。
克罗德军营在二战期间被指定为美国陆军通信兵置换培训和陆军部队后勤培训中心,培训了数千名通讯员和无线电操作员,摄影师和报务员,还有用于战场上的信鸽部队。
Jack N. Yee在二次大战获得了3枚奖章,他于1945年9月8日从军中退役。

Communications
Soldier --Jack N. Yee
During World War II, many Chinese soldiers
were ordinary but indispensable, and Jack N. Yee was one of
them.1942,Jack
N. Yee joined the U.S. Army. He took his basic training and tech
school at Shepherd Field Texas. he was trained as a baker, Upon
graduation at baking school, he transferred to the Army Air
Corps and served at Randolph Field, Texas.
Jan 1944. General Joseph Stilwell, needed groups
of Chinese Americans who could speak and write Chinese for
assignment to Kunming, China for communication services. Jack
was one of the 400 who was selected for that assignment.
July 1944. After intensive training for this
assignment at Camp Crown, Missouri, all 400 were assigned to the
3143th Signal Service Company, then shipped to China via India
by boat through the Suez Canal. After arriving at Bombay, India,
they were then sent to Calcutta, India. Subsequently 300 of the
trained communicators went on to China for duty. Jack and the
other 99 were sent to New Delhi, India as backup reserves.
While waiting for further orders, the war had
fortunately came to an end. Jack won three medals in World War
II.
Sept 8, 1945. Jack received his discharge.
