二战中的华裔通讯兵
在二次大战期间，亚利桑那州有很多华裔军人被派往亚太战区执行任务，他们有些工作虽然平凡，但是不可或缺！如凤凰城侨联前任主席余文泽 (David M. Yee) 的父亲余毓铨 (Jack N. Communications Soldier --Jack N. Yee During World War II, many Chinese soldiers were ordinary but indispensable, and Jack N. Yee was one of them.1942，Jack N. Yee joined the U.S. Army. He took his basic training and tech school at Shepherd Field Texas. he was trained as a baker, Upon graduation at baking school, he transferred to the Army Air Corps and served at Randolph Field, Texas. Jan 1944. General Joseph Stilwell, needed groups of Chinese Americans who could speak and write Chinese for assignment to Kunming, China for communication services. Jack was one of the 400 who was selected for that assignment. July 1944. After intensive training for this assignment at Camp Crown, Missouri, all 400 were assigned to the 3143th Signal Service Company, then shipped to China via India by boat through the Suez Canal. After arriving at Bombay, India, they were then sent to Calcutta, India. Subsequently 300 of the trained communicators went on to China for duty. Jack and the other 99 were sent to New Delhi, India as backup reserves. While waiting for further orders, the war had fortunately came to an end. Jack won three medals in World War II. Sept 8, 1945. Jack received his discharge.
